GCNC Scholarships
The Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. provides several scholarships each year to deserving North Carolina college students with majors in horticulture, environmental studies, landscape design, botany and other related fields. Funding for these scholarships comes from club donations and the sale of our annual Engagement Calendars. Scholarship winners are determined by the Scholarship Committee of GCNC. The Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. is proud of its long history of supporting the education of young people. The Scholarship Application may be downloaded here. Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee Chairman before March 1.
National Garden Clubs Scholarships (NGC)
Additionally, there are 32 annual scholarships offered by the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Scholarship Program. North Carolina recipients of these NGC scholarships must be legal residents of North Carolina, be studying in the same fields as above, maintain a 3.0 grade point average or better, and have a financial need. North Carolina residents who receive national scholarships may be enrolled in colleges or universities in other states. The GCNC Scholarship Committee will send one GCNC Scholarship winner’s application to National Garden Clubs to compete for the NGC scholarship.
South Atlantic Region Garden Clubs Scholarships (SAR)
Also, the South Atlantic Region (Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia) annually offers scholarships, including the Corrie Whitlock Memorial SAR Scholarship. Applicants must be majoring in a Horticulture- related field and must be a resident of one of the 5 states listed above.
