District Meeting - October 17, 2012 – Greensboro
The Out Our Way Youth Garden Club working on a Eden community project. Their first time working in a garden. The youth under the direction of the leader, Sue Abbruzzi, teaching the youth…1. The value of hard work and good soil to the future generations of America.2. How to plant and grow from a seed – a community and horticulture garden of their own.3. How to eat better and where their food comes from.4. The economical value of a garden and how to cut the cost of their grocery bill.




Out Our Way Garden Club, Eden, NC – October, 2011 meeting. Hostess Judi Talbert and her daughter in law, Julie Talbert, had the program on “locally grown foods” and how they are grown, prepared and shipped.




Out Our Way Garden Club in Eden, NC: Carolyn Hailey, President, led her small but mighty club of sixteen members in the Department of Transportation Fall Litter Sweep. All club members participated in the project that they worked on two separate days. The ladies picked up 17 orange bags of litter and 10 blue bags of recyclables. They have done this project for the last three years.
