Blue Ridge Garden Club, Boone, North  - Decorate the Christmas tree in the lobby of Watauga Medical Center Hospital.  This yearly custom is enjoyed by the ladies of the club.  The tree features themes of birds, snowflakes, winter flora and fauna.

Grand Marshall of the 4th of July parade was Mary Elder, one of the garden club’s founding members.
Mary will be 102 YEARS old October 2011.
